How to Make (Baby) Pink Your Favorite Color This Winter
The Style Sauce Favorite Pink Blog Post

When you think of winter wear pink doesn't usually come to mind, does it? It seems like red's more low-key cousin usually pops up alongside resort wear in the Spring and Summer, but here's 5 ways to incorporate everyone's favorite feminine color into your life in the chicest way during these cooler months. Major perk? You don't have to ditch the color come Spring and Summer, so some of these are classics for all year round.

1) Pick a muted tone. If there's anything to remember when reaching for pink this year it's that muted is much better. Hot pink is a totally different world, but if you opt for a nude, baby pink, or blush, it's a much easier incorporate into your every day wardrobe.

2) Wear it in a floral or print.

Florals are everywhere, even in the Fall. Find pink in an embroidered bomber this season or in a silk blouse for a little boom.

3) Opt for a pop of pink in your home.

Not ready to wear pink? Maybe you'll be willing to decorate with it. Pink couches might be my favorite thing, but if you can't commit to that try a candle, pillows, or a piece of art to warm up your space.

4) Choose an accessory.

A pink backpack, scarf, shoe, or pair of sunnies is a great way to wear pink without doing it head to toe. A blush heel would look cute with any little black dress, or a pink backpack goes great with jeans and a tee.

5) As outerwear:

A baby pink jacket is oh so chic. Opt for a wool trench or pink sweater for a warm way to wear this soft and feminine tone all year round.  If you like the one I'm wearing in this post from Azalea SF, check it out here.

Candy Colored Dreams

Well first of all, Happy New Year everyone!!! I'm hoping that everyone had a safe and fun holiday season. I just got back from the East Coast for the past 3 weeks, and it feels amazing to be back in the California sunshine! Today's post is actually really part 2 of our last post, Ice Cream, stemming from my recent obsession with everything color. While generally in the winter we tend to gravitate to darker colors and of course black, I love doing the opposite for an unexpected vibrant splash. Of course, no look is complete without a colorful fur coat or sweater - I've been seeing them literally EVERYWHERE. I wore my favorite Zara booties for both looks- while I love color it's hard to ditch my favorite black booties du jour. Sometimes anchoring a colorful look with black accessories can provide great contrast. (I also did this in our Think Pink post).

For today we have not one but TWO colored looks that Michele Andersen shot for me before we took off for the Holiday! So excited for 2015- we have lots more coming for you I can't wait to share. Shortly we will be launching a newly redesigned homepage, and next week we'll be back to black from NYC, stay tuned.

Ice Cream

Lately I've been so sick of black. So, today's post is all about the candy colors that have been big for fall this year. I'm wearing one of my favorite unexpected color combinations: pinks and burgundies. There is something so fresh about wearing all color! I paired a burgundy overcoat to tie in my mules, while I kept my sweater and ballerina mini super pale pink and purple. There's just something about such a light and fluffy color palette that makes me smile. I chose to keep my legs bare as we can in California, but for those of you in colder climates a pair of tights would also work well to stay warm.

Also making an appearance in this post is my 2 year old Coton De Tulear, Ladybug, because to me there is nothing more adorable and fluffy than her face. What do we do when it gets cold in Venice Beach? Well, we eat ice cream of course! Ladybug even got a lick ;) Enjoy the look!
