10 Beauty Products You Need to Try for Summer 2019
10 Beauty Products to try in 2019

As a blogger for the past 5 years, I’ve been so lucky to be able to try so many new products, especially in beauty. Lately I’ve tried some really amazing stuff in the beauty department, and there’s a handful that I wanted to include in a round up for some “must trys” as we’re heading into the warmer months.

Below find 10 beauty products to try right now.

Here wearing Chanel’s eyebrow pencil, Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, and Charlotte TIlbury’s Magic Away concealer.

La Mer The Concentrate

1) La Mer The Concentrate

Yes, it’s pricey, but this stuff really lives up to the hype. I’ve adapted to using it every morning under my makeup routine as it gives my skin an added boost of moisture with a matte finish that’s perfect under foundation or tinted moisturizer. I would recommend for all skin types - and a little goes a long way, so you can use a bottle for up to a year!

Salt By Hendrix face glow illuminator highlighter

2) Salt by Hendrix Illuminate Facial Glow Highlighter

This brand is completely clean and this highlighter is made from a base of coconut oil, making it great for dry skin. Gives you moisture and a subtle glow without looking too shiny. A little also goes a long way here! My favorite shade is “showstopper” , the perfect golden glow.

Sulwhasoo essential Lip Serum Stick blossom Coral

3) Sulwhasoo Essential Lip Serum Stick

This is the lip product I never knew I needed but now I can’t live without. It’s a lipstick, gloss, and hydrating serum all in one. It has such a pretty sheer color you can use any time even if you’re not wearing makeup and I take it every where with me! A must for the summer when you just want to sport a tan and a little pop of color on your lips. My favorite shade is #5, blossom coral!

Mamonde Rose Water Toner

4) Mamonde Hydrating Beauty Rose Water

I have dry and sensitive skin so I’ve never been huge into toners because they always feel drying. This product changed my mind about that. This rose water not only is great as a toner but also adds moisture to your face and is awesome before you use your serums / moisturizers! It also smells amazing, like roses because it’s 90% comprised of organic rose water from damask roses.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner black

5) Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - Trooper Black

This is my ride or die favorite black liquid liner for the perfect cat eye. I recently strayed and tried some others which made me wonder why I would even try to find a new liquid eyeliner. So many eyeliners give me full blown allergic reactions and this one does not. It goes on black and the applicator is precise. It’s also quite affordable. 10/10 if you’re looking for a new super black liner! It’s also Vegan and cruelty free. I’m wearing it in the photo above!

eve lom rescue mask

6) Eve Lom Rescue Mask

If you follow me on Instagram and ever watch my stories, you know I have mentioned this mask A LOT, lol. I discovered this mask over the holidays and have been using it ever since. It’s a one stop shop when your skin just isn’t looking it’s best self. Helps minimize pores, detox your skin, promotes radiance, I could go on and on. The only downside is it kind of smells strong / weird, but since it works so well it’s definitely something I can get past. A must try!

Chanel Crayon Sourcils #10

7) Chanel Beauté Crayon Sourcils

This eyebrow pencil is my go-to, and in the summer your brows play an important part of your face if you’re going for a more stripped down look. It has a wax-like texture which is great for shaping, and it’s really a one stop shop for your brows. I usually use/ wear it alone, or with Glossier’s boy brow when I want to do a bolder brow. Color #10 is epic for blondes and one pencil lasts at least 4-6 months even using it every day. I never leave home without this.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer

8) Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer

I’m pretty obsessed with everything Charlotte Tilbury lately, and I LOVE this concealer. It has a super cool applicator and just works so well at exact application, doesn’t fall into creases easily, blends amazing with other makeup, and gives your face an overall flawless appearance.

Elemis Pro Collagen oxygenating night cream

9) Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream

This night cream is the bomb. I love layering it with my serums and notice a difference in my skin when I’m not using it. It’s certified natural, smells great, and if you need a new night time moisturizer highly recommend giving this one a go.

Cover FX Power Play Foundation

10) Cover FX Power Play Foundation

This foundation is full coverage but doesn’t feel heavy on your face. It has a matte finish which layers great over your moisturizers and serums and sets a great base for when you’re doing a full face of makeup. It also comes in over 30+ shades which is amazing! Cover FX also makes booster drops you can add to this for added benefits. I use the antioxident one for a vitamin boost! If you’re similar skin to me and wondering what shade, I’m a shade G30. It’s also certified clean so you can trust wearing it all day, which is great.

Hope this is helpful if you’re looking to try some new beauty goods in the next few months and you find something new to be a fan of! Let me know if you do try or purchase any of these what you think! I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!

4 Ways to Spice Up an All Black Outfit
The Style Sauce how to wear an all black outfit // Fashion blogger // Style Tips

Yeahhhh it’s the holidays, but black is back. LOL jk actually it never left (obvi) and it never will. It’s a fashion staple that stands the test of time no matter what era it is. I myself pretty much live for an-all black moment. It’s definitely my go-to when I can’t really figure out what to wear, but sometimes you can totally start to feel a little bored with it. That said, here’s a few ways that will help spice up an all black outfit that will take your next monochromatic look to the next level you really need in your fashion life.

1) Add white accessories

As seen here friends, there’s nothing like wearing all black and then popping a white shoe or pair of sunnies on to bring some life to the outfit (or be like me and do both :P) The whole thing is very 60’s and if you’ve been reading my blog for even a week, you know how much I love a vintage inspired look!

White it Out

2) Mixed Media

Ok this is actually an art term, but what I mean is mix the textures of the fabrics to make it more interesting to the eye. Think a black cashmere sweater with a black sequined skirt, or a black faux fur jacket with a black leather skirt. The difference of textures looks different to the eye and tends to be more interesting than just wearing all the same fabric. Here I’m wearing faux leather leggings with a sweater that has feathered fringe and you can see the movement of the fabrics and the lines between where the sweater stops and the leggings begin.

3) Add a red lip

I think this is actually my favorite thing to do when I’m wearing all black. There’s nothing like a little pop of color on your face against an all black look, and it really can bring to life your outfit. It brings the focus away from your clothes and to your beautiful face! I generally prefer a more matte red lip or maybe semi-sheer vs a high gloss, shop some of my faves below.

4) Play with hemlines

Try playing with different lengths of the black clothes you’re wearing for your OOTD - like a long jacket over a short skirt, a cropped shirt with high waisted black denim, or a mid-calf boot with a flowy midi skirt.

Highs and lows

What’s your favorite way to jazz up an all black look? Let me know in the comments!

Two-Ways Tuesdays: The Checkered Blazer
Women's street style // mixing patterns // The Style Sauce blog

Hi! Welcome back.

So I’m introducing a new thing to this blog called “Two Ways Tuesdays”. This is basically going to be a blog series where I take ONE piece and style it TWO ways. The reason I wanted to do this is because I see a lot of bloggers always wearing different things and never wearing the same thing twice, and I believe it’s not only impractical but it also leads to another even scarier reality and that is mass consumerism and waste. I myself have been struggling with having such a large amount of clothing that I have to give it away, donate it, or sell it at such a fast pace that sometimes it starts to give me anxiety. Not only that but never wearing the same thing twice is expensive and irresponsible to the environment. Did you know that the fashion industry is the #2 cause of pollution on this planet next to only fossil fuels? Gross. Instead of being a part of the problem, I’d love to empower us all to actually reuse and rewear the things that we love starting with today. This is such a large conversation that I’ve been meaning to share more on here, but we’ll start with this series to at least showcase ways to wear things more than once. The checkered blazer is actually a piece you can wear 20 ways, but for the sake of longevity of blog posts I’ll be keeping it to two, lol!

One way I’m styling this is with a corduroy mini skirt, sock boots, a cropped black turtleneck sweater, and oversized sunglasses! You all have shown so much love about this look on Instagram, but it really is such a great look for any days you need to look pulled together this Fall. If you live in cooler weather, you could easily add tights under the mini skirt as well.

Now for look # 2. The second way I’ve styled this blazer (as you can see) is with ripped denim jeans, a printed cropped blouse, a printed head scarf, and combat boots. Both ways are definitely Fall approved and entirely different from one another. I love how I’ve mixed the prints in option two and how it incorporates denim and combat boots which are practical for Fall weather in most parts of the world! While I can think of 100’s of other ways to wear this checkered blazer, these two are a great start to incorporating a plaid blazer into your fall wardrobe.
