Fall 16 Wardrobe Staple: The Silk Bomber
The Style Sauce satin bomber street style fashion blogger

If you're like me, you've already been planning your Fall wardrobe and you're SO ready to break it out (coat season just get here already!). I always comb the magazines and my usual online publications early to know what's coming- and it's super fun for me to pick out the trends from the shows at NYFW, LFW, PFW, and MFW that I personally think will be huge for the next year (I'm like almost ALWAYS right, btw. ;)) It seems that every August I go through this end of Summer in between season struggle, especially since it's always the hottest in Los Angeles August, September, and October. Enter "transition pieces". This is always a big fashion challenge because it can be so weird to mix Summer things with Fall pieces that are heavy fabrics like velvet, leather, and cashmere.

Here's where the silk bomber jacket comes in. It's already every where for Summer, but plan on this piece being even bigger for Fall. The cherry on the top of goodness with this wardrobe staple is the fact that it's light weight enough to layer over a flowy dress for the chic-est end of Summer look, yet you'll still be able to wear this bad boy over a sweater with a pair of your favorite jeans and a boot when it's freezing (aka 60 degrees in L.A., ha).

Another reason I love this trend is that it's something that all body shapes and skin tones look good in. It really is universally approachable. Below I'm picking out for you some of my favorites for all budgets. What do you think of the satin bomber trend? Let me know in the comments below.

Little Red Romper
The Style Sauce// Genevieve Liebscher urban outfitters red romper street style Venice Beach

It's officially Summer in Venice Beach, which means it's hot and everyone is hitting the beaches. While I love Summer the most, it's sometimes hard to find things that are comfortable in the warm weather but still pulled together. What I've noticed is that I usually reach for a romper like the one I'm wearing here. I must have at least 20 rompers. They're flattering in that they accentuate the waist. They're easy because you only need to pull on the one piece and you're done- no fussing with separates! They're comfortable and will keep you cool in even the warmest of weather, especially when they're strappy and open-backed like this one is. Lastly, you can almost always dress them up or down! On the weekends, I live in a romper like this one. During the day I'll pair with a cute sandal, and by night I'll wear a heeled bootie for dinner and drinks with friends. Needless to say, rompers and Summer go together like peas and carrots. (Yes- that was Forrest Gump reference)

This particular little red number happens to also be on sale at Urban Outfitters, and an absolute steal at just $40! Pair with a pair of round sunnies and a little brown bootie and you'll be set for any Sunday Funday during warmer months.

Check this one out, and shop some of my other favorite onesies below for all of your Summer-ing by the beach.

A Weekend With Mom
Mother's Day The Style Sauce Fashion Blog on the Venice Canals

Mother's Day is one of those Holidays that I think is one of the most important. It celebrates the women who have given us life, and there's really nothing I could think of that is more important than that. While my Mom lives just an hour flight away in Palo Alto, CA, it's been 5 years since she's come down to visit me in Los Angeles. Despite this, I somehow convinced her to come down for Mother's Day this year- and I was unbelieveably excited when she actually said yes! We had an awesome weekend in L.A. There's really nothing like girl time with your mom. We basically just shopped, ate, got manicures, and all of the things in between. Of course, the apple didn't fall far from the tree, and Mom taught me all the saucin' I needed to know from a young age. It's fun playing dress up with her, even now. Thank you Mom for giving me life and coming to spend an unforgettable weekend with me, I hope you'll come to L.A. more often.

We took some photos near my home on the Venice Canals before our night out on Saturday- pictured here is three generations, my Mom, Me, and my daughter Ladybug (yes, I know she's a dog, but she is literally my child so it counts ok??)

How did you all celebrate Mother's Day? Whether your Mom is close or far away I'd love to hear how others spent the day with their Moms, "Moms", daughters, or celebrating womanhood in general.. This stuff really gets to me, I'm one of those people that cry during Visa commercials. I'd say don't tell anyone but I just put it on my blog, so there goes my big I'm not sensitive facade! Who was I fooling anyways? ;)

Check out our Mother's Day style and let me know what you think! You can shop a lot of what we're wearing in this post in the gallery below.

While I love this pink hat from Lack of Color Australia with almost anything, it's especially cute with a flirty little black wrap dress and heeled boot. Perfect to take you from day to night.

Mom's sleeveless tunic dress is the perfect length and fit to dress up or down. We found it at a little boutique and I convinced to buy it knowing she'd be able to wear it with so much!
