Wardrobe Update: 3 Trends to Wear This Season
Orange sunglasses blue striped top, street style via The Style Sauce fashion blog

Anytime there's a season change, I always look to find the few pieces I should be buying and wearing to give my wardrobe a quick update. In the look in this post, I've incorporated 3 of my favorites for Summer 2017: two-tone denim, a statement top, and a retro oval cat eye pair of sunnies.  The statement top and two tone denim skirt, are both from Azalea SF, and since It's officially Spring, ALMOST Summer, of course I'm sporting these fun orange sunnies from Made Eyewear.  This year in particular, this one shape I've been seeing literally EVERYWHERE, and I'm really digging them for any style right now. If you're any A-list celebrity, you're wearing this sunny shape, hey Gigi and Bella!

Two-tone denim:

This is one of my favorite trends right now. If you've been reading this blog for a while, you already know I love my denim, and this is such a fun take on my favorite wardrobe staple.

Statement Tops:

I've been loving statement tops a lot right now, and specifically ones with over stated sleeves. This one is so flattering and wraps around the body which gives it a great look with a pair of skinny jeans or a skirt like I've worn in this post. See below some statement tops I'm loving that you can wear similarly all Summer long, and well into Fall!

The New Cat Eye:

In this post, I've opted for a pair of sunglasses from MADE Eyewear in a fun punchy orange (They're called the Jamie - you can find them here). There's something about this pair that is so retro chic, and it's a different take to the standard cat eye shape. The oval rounded cat eye is really versatile and works on basically any face shape, which is a major perk. Here I've link a whole bunch of styles and interpertations of them for any budget. From Forever 21 to Elizabeth and James, there's sure to be a pair for you below so make sure to check out the boutique below for some of my faves.

How to style a pantsuit

Pantsuits, jumpers, rompers with pants, whatever you want to call them, can be such a chic wardrobe staple, but also super hard to style. If you don't do it just right, it can end up looking like you woke up and rolled out of bed and hit the grocery store, or even worse, like you're a city worker or train conductor. While it's totally fine to have a nod to looking similar to the man who painted your house or an inmate, it's not usually my goal to totally go for it - Halloween not included.

All that aside, it's about the way you put it together, the width of the leg, if it has sleeves, etc. Here are a few tips for styling a pantsuit that will have you looking stylish, not in bed clothes or like you live at the state penitentiary.

1) Layer up: Adding a scarf, vest, or jacket can break up the pantsuit and take it to a whole different level, or even make it look like just pants with a sweater!

2) Different leg width, different shoes: I love these pointed bow front slides (similar here) that I'm wearing in this post for pantsuits that are cinched at the ankle or skinny thought the leg. Other great options are mules, or flat sneakers. For a wider leg pantsuit or one with a flared leg, a platform, heeled bootie, or sneaker could be great, depending how long it is and where it sits.

3) Belt it, or opt for a pantsuit that cinches at the waist : As you can see here this pantsuit has a drawstring at the waist. I've never met a pantsuit I liked that didn't cinch somewhere on the torso area. Make sure you accentuate the waist or cinch at the hips with a belt to make sure your body isn't lost in all the fabric!
